Minimum 10 years' experience in one of the following sectors: hospitality, entertainment or animal park.
Preferable to have work experience in Cambodia or Southeast Asia and a clear understanding of labor law in the region.
Must be fluent in English. Second language is preferable.
Leading the company and ensuring all employees buy into the company vision.
Setting the overall strategic direction of the company alongside the Board of Directors.
The guest experience is the company's main objective and the care and keeping of the livestock is second to none.
Planning and implementing long-term business strategies to achieve the company's objectives.
Meeting with the finance director on a regular basis to review the company's financial performance.
Interviewing for senior positions within the organization and signing off offers of employment.
Working closely with the Marketing/Sales Director on strategy and approach to sales and marketing.
Maintain PR position and act as the face of the Park.
Setting companywide KPI's to gauge company performance in all areas.
Setting company budgets and forecasts alongside the finance director.
Reporting results to the shareholders on a quarterly and annual basis, or as directed.

Succession planning for senior members of the company to ensure all departments are managed continuously.
The position will be employed prior to the opening of the project. Initial responsibilities will include understanding the project and vision of the project. Review and establishing a sound business plan for implementation for project success.
Creating an organizational chart and staffing plan. This will include all aspects: finance, sales and marketing, operations and maintenance, landscape, etc. Note - as this project is a highly specialized operation with respect to various animals, the Board?of Directors will provide assistance in staffing for animal care and specialists. However, the overall reporting and hierarchy shall be developed by the General Manager.
Develop specific targeted sales strategy for the international clientele the project intends to target. This may include, targeted advertising campaigns globally, or country specific to attract foreign tourists. General Manager must collaborate with departmental heads and curators, who in turn supervise the other zoo staffers such as keepers, educators, veterinarians, support staff, and volunteers. Director is responsible for ensuring that all day to day operations run smoothly and that animals are cared for in accordance?with all applicable regulations.
Work with specialty staff to develop emergency procedures and actively train for possible emergencies.
Develop health and safety plan.
Maintain a very high degree of efficiency and cleanliness. The Board a clean park that will be internationally recognized for its forward-thinking approach. Set a high bar of standard in Cambodia and nearby countries.
Establishing an accreditation plan with several of the leading accreditation organizations globally.
Manage the F&B strategy from the beginning. This may require tendering out retail to third-party operators or developing in-house strategy. Providing options and recommendation to the Board.
Develop ticketing strategy, POS and efficient integration with accounting software.
Develop transportation strategy for tourist arrivals.
As this is the first phase of the project, the General Manager shall be critical in understanding the market demographic and being an integral part of developing Phases 2 and 3.
